Holistic Management International Texas is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization transforming people’s relationship with the land through awareness of its impact on every aspect of life, using the power of holistic management

The holistic management philosophy is simple. The best way to sustain a healthy ecosystem is to realize that every action or non-action affects the whole and to carefully consider every decision based on a set of guidelines—moving toward a predetermined goal that includes quality of life, forms of production and the vision of a resource base sustainable far into the future. Careful biological and financial planning, accompanied by monitoring changes to be sure movement is in the right direction, is essential to the process.

HMI Texas offers education about holism, the ecosystem processes, goal setting, financial planning, land planning, grazing planning, biological monitoring, decision-making, and creative application of all the tools available for use on the land. Understanding and working within whole, natural ecosystems leads to enhancing environmental quality and the natural resource base, sustaining the economic viability of farm operations by financial planning strategies that include reduced inputs, improving both livestock and wildlife health and vigor, building drought resistance into the soil, and enhancing the quality of life for farmers/ranchers and society as a whole.

Active Membership in HMI Texas is $100 per calendar year for an individual and a partner. You will receive the book Holistic Management, by Allan Savory (new members only) or gift of the year (renewals) as well as the quarterly Watering Whole newsletter, News & Notes e-newsletter, discounts on all HMI Texas events and the privilege to vote for organization leadership.  Grazing or Land Management clubs are forming all over the state.
